IN-PERSON VOTING
If you are voting in-person, Early Voting begins TODAY and ends on Friday, October 30.
If you are voting on Election Day, polls will be open 7:00am-7:00pm. In some counties, you can vote at any Election Day Vote Center in your county, and, in some counties, you are assigned a polling place based on your precinct.

VOTING WITH AN ABSENTEE BALLOT-BY-MAIL
Texas does not have no-excuse absentee voting by mail.
Qualifications for Absentee Ballot-by-Mail (ABBM):
YOU MUST BE:

be 65 years or older;

be sick or disabled;

be out of the county on election day and during the period for early voting by personal appearance; or
-
be confined in jail, but otherwise eligible.

If you are voting with an ABBM, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY, fill out your ballot, and then SIGN YOUR NAME IN THE CORRECT PLACE.
Once you are done, try and drop it off at your Early Voting Clerk's office (SEE BELOW FOR DROP-OFF LOCATIONS BY COUNTY).
YOU, AND ONLY YOU, CAN RETURN A BALLOT; IN FACT, IT IS AN OFFENSE FOR ANYBODY EXCEPT FOR YOU, A CLOSE FAMILY MEMBER OR A PERSON WHO IS LIVING IN THE SAME HOUSEHOLD AS YOU TO HANDLE YOUR BALLOT.
ALL MAIL BALLOTS NEED TO BE DROPPED OFF BY 7:00pm ON ELECTION NIGHT.

VOTER ID
Texas requires voters to present a valid form of identification for BOTH IN-PERSON VOTING and MAIL-BALLOT DROP OFF. If you do not have a photo ID, you can you will need to present a non-photo ID and then sign a "Reasonable Impediment Declaration" in order to vote. For more details, see below.

If you are aged 18-69, YOUR PHOTO ID (with the exception of a Citizen's Certificate w/ Photo) MUST NOT BE EXPIRED ANY MORE THAN 4 YEARS TO THE DATE IN WHICH YOU VOTE.
In other words, if you are voting during the EARLY VOTING period, your ID must not be expired any earlier than October 13-October 30, 2016, depending on the date in which you vote.
Or, if you are voting on ELECTION DAY, it must be unexpired as of October 3, 2016.
If you are aged 70+ years of age, your ID can remain EXPIRED.
