Despite business model changes, Southern Newspapers shuts down Del Rio News-Herald

Southern Newspapers Inc., a Houston-based media company, has shut down one of its newspapers, the Del Rio News-Herald in Del Rio, Texas.

Nov. 18 was its last edition.

The Del-Rio employees received the news on Nov. 17 and will receive compensation packages from SNI, according to an announcement. Subscribers will receive a refund of their account balance and must call or email the Del Rio circulation desk before the end of November with any questions they have.
