Dentist that caters to someone with severe anxiety

Im 51 and I hate to say this but I have not been to a dentist since I was 16. My dentist was an awful man but did good work. I was having a broken tooth worked on (hit by a car door at school) and it was really hurting, he didn't give me enough novacaine? (whatever he used to numb my mouth as gas didn't work for me) I tried to let him know, but it was also causing me to tear up. He was in a foul mood that day and was screaming at his wife (another dentist and his staff) he came back and covered up my mouth and nose with his hand and called me names while i couldn't breath. He finally let go and left, about a minute later I heard a loud bang. My dad rushed in and grabbed me and ran me out of the office. when were leaving we had to step over my Dr's body as he decided to kill himself right outside the room i was getting work done in. Its odd, i have taken all my kids to the dentist, i get their teeth sealed and everything. I will not leave their side, even when they were teenagers….I know its safe but I can't get myself back in that chair. I need to go to the dentist but I need someone who can put me to sleep or something. Any advice or direction will greatly be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Jorge
