dentist recommendations

hi! has anyone gone to urbn dental and how was it?

i started a new job last year and got new dental insurance. prior to this, i was going to p+e dental in uptown and had a great experience there. long story short, i went to urbn dental for the first time because i felt pain after eating a popcorn kernel and they said i need two root canals and four cavities filled along with a new laser treatment to help with my gums and i was diagnosed with periodontal disease. they showed me multiple x-rays and said my bone is decaying and i need this laser treatment then after i declined the treatment and opted for a deep cleaning instead ($345 after insurance), the hygienist said she really wished i would’ve done the laser treatment that would have cost me an additional $800 out of pocket TODAY. the intense and expensive work they’re recommending has me skeptical, but i did see x-rays of my teeth and it makes sense. anyone have similar issues?

edit: the staff was very friendly and accommodating (i have a major fear of the dentist), so it’s not them i’m skeptical of – i’m more worried about the business model and the company itself. seems like they’re interested in sales
