Defense was 26th in DVOA, do you think it was mainly a coaching issue or talent issue?

To be more specific, our pass defense was 26th with our rush defense being 22nd.

I know it's probably both in terms of negatives, but which would you say was the bigger negative? The secondary was roughly patched with additions throughout the season so of course there's going to be so many missed cues as we saw late in the season.

Dline wise aside from Watt for a few games, DJ Reader was the only one who seemed to excel throughout the season. Whitney Mercilus after dominating early on just straight up disappeared idk if it was immediately after Watt injury or some other time.

Obviously pass rushing wise needs work, but with just the amount of at least solid-good players on the non-secondary side should've at least had a decent rush defense.

Either it's just a bad overall fit together with just a bunch of good players but don't compliment each other well. Or the coaching hasn't been able to get them to gel together cohesively.

What are your thoughts?
