Cat show benefits area shelters

The Gulf Coast Feline Foundation and the city of Deer Park welcome cat lovers and potential adopters to “Meow Luau” at the Jimmy Burke Activity Center.

Where: 500 W. 13th St., Deer Park

When: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Details: “The mission for these events continues to be supporting animal shelters (and) rescue groups as well as feline disease research groups such as the Winn Feline Foundation,” said Michelle Piatt, treasurer, vendor coordinator and marketing/publicity liaison for the Gulf Coast Feline Foundation. “Our show hall will represent up to 42 pedigreed breeds plus household pets competing for titles.”

Deer Park Animal Shelter and Adoption Center and the La Porte Animal Adoption Center and Shelter will have cats and kittens available onsite for adoption.

Price: $7-$10.
