Deciding between katy and tomball for family move.
Family moving to houston in June. Daughter is 4, son is 1, both have a daycare/ preschool in Katy and also Tomball that we’ve registered them for. It’s a statewide school and they are currently enrolled in austin, so we just want to keep them in the same curriculum. We’re still trying to narrow down what area we’d like. I’ll be working mostly spring, woodlands and humble, and I know the drive from Katy is longer but I’m in the medical field, so I’m usually heading to the hospital about 5:30am and coming home around 2pm, so traffic isn’t a huge thing. Right now, I’m driving from Austin to houston 3 days a week, so I figure even if it’s a 45 min drive, it’s still way less lol.
We’re going to rent for this first year to make sure we like it, and then possibly put our austin house for sale early next year and the buy out there. Currently on an acre in austin, so if/when the “for sure” move happens, we’ll be settling on decent lot size, and like the feel of magnolia, Conroe, and even Huffman (except the floods….am I right) But for now, which is a more friendly place to settle and get our feet wet for houston?
For renting: Tomball would be creek side area Katy would be cinco ranch area
