Dear journal

Here's a few thoughts I have based on my experience through all this. Things I lose track of in all the emotion.

  • We were upset at the front office prior to the D4 drama because of a failure to prioritize talent over cultural fit.

  • The only facts we have on the D4 side of things is that his frustration with the team peaked after caserio was hired and that he has requested a trade.

  • D4 has not threatened to sit out if not traded

  • Cal stated that Jack would not be involved in the GM search and head coach search. He heavily influenced both.

  • The Texans hired a head coach that has been in the league for over 20 years but who has no coordinator experience, no staff, responsible for the worst passing offense in the league last year, and wasn't considered by any other teams. This choice was made over headline candidates like Eric Bienemy, Joe Brady, and Brian Dabol.

  • Cal has inexplicably retained Jack on the team despite not being able to articulate what he does or what he's good at. Somehow his mysterious contributions to the team are worth the outage of the fan base and players. Keeping Jack on staff has hurt the future of the team as free agents and trades will be more difficult to close when players are actively avoiding the rumored/proven harassment, manipulation, and Bible thumping within the Texan's front office.
