Dealing with Traffic Citation

Hey y’all! I was cited speeding down 290 driving 82 in a 60 today and I was wondering what I can do to avoid having it on my record. This would be my second citation ever (and second one this year). I did defensive driving for the last one after going through a speed trap down coming back from Austin. From what I’ve been researching, I can only do defensive driving once every 12 months, but another option is deferred disposition so I’m hoping for that. They said though that for the second option, drivers under 25 (I’m 24) have to take defensive driving.. so does it cancel out? what does it really mean?
