Daytime RN Jobs?

My wife and I recently moved to Houston for my job. She is looking for day shift RN jobs in the pediatric field, preferably in an outpatient clinic or doctor’s office (although she’s willing to take a hospital job if nothing else comes up). We live in Fort Bend County and would like to find something in Missouri City or Sugar Land, but she’s willing to commute to the Med Center for the right job. She has about 2.5 years of clinical experience in hospital L&D and an outpatient ENT surgery center.

With all the talk of a nursing shortage, she’s surprisingly had a hard time getting any interviews or offers despite a diligent search, many applications, and cold calls. I realize day shift and outpatient jobs are a bit harder to find than hospital jobs, but is there a better way to go about this search to get more results? Is it just an especially competitive market? Being somewhat unfamiliar with the RN job market here, I thought I’d turn to you all for help!
