Day 4 is where we live

Historically in Free Agency a few things will never change.

• Day 1

Desperate teams will overpay to get big names.

A few contenders will grab the 1-2 studs they need…while overpaying

Bad teams will fill the bottom of their rosters with role players.

• Day 2

Teams will re-sign some players who found out their market wasn’t as good as they thought it was.

• Day 3

Players deals become official and hit the news cycle again and fans with teams who haven’t been active panic

• Day 4-5

Teams start signing Tier 2 and 3 players now that the market is set and those players are realistic about their paydays.

• Day 6+

The dregs get signed with an occasional “oh yeah, there are still 4 starting caliber safeties” type signing.

Caserio has been signing backup players who can teach out onslaught of rookies that are on the way. Keenum was a brilliant clipboard signing.

Ridgeway is a fat runstuffer we actually need.

The rest are just filling our depth chart.

The next few days we will start getting involved with some better players like Zach Allen, Azeez Al-Shaair and maybe get involved in talks for someone like Ekeler or Suemalo.

Signing high end players like they $19M linebacker would have been a mistake.
