Davis Mills is a top 10 backup QB

Yes this is peak offseason content.
That being said, I feel like Mills is being disrespected here. He can be a decent game manager in a pinch that could be a poor man’s Brock Purdy. He has just under 6,000 passing yards and 35 TDs vs 25 INTs in two seasons (closer to 1.5 seasons really). And he did it with no O-Line, no weapons, and no real coaching. I feel that a backup QB should be a guy to stabilize the ship and not turn the ball over while you let your other playmakers win the game.
Here is my rankings for top ten backup QBs:
- Gardner Minshew (LV)
- Jacoby Brissett (NE)
- Joe Flacco (IND)
- Justin Fields (PIT)
- Cooper Rush (DAL)
- Jake Browning (CIN)
- Sam Howell (SEA)
- Mac Jones (JAX)
- Davis Mills (HOU)
- Andy Dalton (CAR)
