David Johnson and other thoughts.
First, I have actually been okay with the DeAndre Hopkins trade, which netted us David Johnson from the beginning. I understand that I am in the minority as well as their is a lot of risk in the trade since DeAndre Hopkins was and more than likely will perform at an All-Pro level; however, I have not discounted and wrote off David Johnson just yet. I think he will work well in Texans offense and have a productive season. Also, I feel as if David Johnson becomes a valuable trade price mid-season and has value come mid season if the Texans struggle early in the season with their tough schedule. I find that a RB needy team (i.e. Buccaneers – Bruce Arians familiarity and in win now mode with Tom Brady + DJ’s expiring contract after 2021). I simply think their is a lot of upside for David Johnson in our offense and will mesh nicely with our play-style and Deshaun Watson’s skill set.
Second, I also feel as though most Texans articles from the beat writers via Bleacher Report are almost always negatively written. I find this extremely frustrating. Everyone bashes Bill O’Brien, but I feel like he is playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers. He does have a Brown University education, so extremely well educated. I personally like Bill O’Brien and will probably catch a lot of flack for that opinion, which is fine. Probably a lot of people will think this is Bill O’Brien himself on his burner account similar to Kevin Durant! I assure you it’s not.
I’m extremely pleased with the growth of this team and the building blocks and core pieces for the future.
Sincerely,
Wasted on that kool-aid.
