Danish flags get mistaken for confederate flags *sigh*

So, about 2 days ago I had three women come to my door and ring my ring doorbell at like 7PM. I had my door open but my screen door locked with a curtain hanging down so no one could see in. I open the curtain to see three women outside and they ask me L1 – lady 1 L2 – lady 2 L3 – lady 3 Me- me

L1: we don't want to be rude but we were wondering why you have 2 confederate flags hanging on your door?

Me: umm, those are not confederate flags, those are Danish flags, I have them on my car too

L2: oh hell yeah she does, why do you even have them up!

Me: ummm, because im Danish and my husband is Danish?

L1: where is this flag located then huh?

Me: In Denmark

L2: which state is that located in?

Me: it isn't a state..

L1: it's a country.

L2: then where is it located at!

Me: above Germany?

L3: OH! Like Norway!

I wanted to facepalm at this time just from the stupidity of the conversation.

I step outside and point at the flag and say

Me: the confederate flag is red outside with white and blue cross and stars on the blue cross. This is a plain red flag with a white plus, not a cross.

L2:stomps her feet and walks away in anger

L3: oh yeah, that's right! But my brother lives in Norway and he told me that they hate black people like us.

Me: I don't know anything about Norway, this is the Danish flag, not Norwegian. Danish people are about equality and are not racists so I am not either.

They finally understood and we talked about other things for about 30 more mins and then they walked away. I have never felt so nervous and threatened before over a flag that has nothing to do with the American history, it doesn't even have to do with America in a whole…

In case you guys want to see the "confederate flags" that are hanging at my door. https://imgur.com/gallery/YAmHNDJ
