Dana Brown needs media training.

Being open is one thing, thoughtlessly blurting out whatever's on your mind is another.

First he says Tucker and Bregman will be Astros for life. He's since traded Tucker and now characterizes signing Bregman as "a long shot" after previously giving up on him entirely. Now he is airing Pressly's dirty laundry for no reason, creating a negative story out of thin air and possibly pissing off the clubhouse.

This isn't a criticism of the moves themselves, just how he talks about them. If he says someone is an Astro for life he needs to know for sure he can make that happen. Under no circumstances should he be airing out his disagreements with a player, when by all other accounts the player has behaved very professionally.

Dana Brown is just very unprofessional with what he says to the media and it doesn't inspire confidence. And at this rate it's going to start causing issues with players. He's not actually "refreshingly open" as some characterize it either, what the front office is up to under his tenure is just as much a mystery as it ever was. He needs to get his s**t together.
