Daily dose of Yordan (Game 42)

At bat 1: 2 pitch double

After taking a low fastball for a strike, Yordan swung early at an inside offspeed pitch that he slugged into right field for a 2 run double. Just a great swing to watch, he was a bit in front and it looked like he barely put any effort into the swing, but it still was rocked into center field for an extra base hit.

At bat 2: 1 pitch groundout to first

Not much to say here, Yordan swung hard at a middle middle fastball and pulled it pretty well, but right to the shifted 1B. He did advance the runners though, but they failed to score.

At bat 3: 5 pitch strikeout swinging

Something interesting to note was that other than 1 pitch in the at bat, all the other pitches Yordan got were fastballs, most of them in the zone. He first took a strike and then fouled off one in pretty much the same place before working a ball and fouling one off, He then swung and missed at a low offspeed off the plate.

At bat 4: 6 pitch strikeout swinging

Once again, Yordan was fed almost exclusively fastballs here, but this time he did a really good job working the count, getting himself into a 3-1 count. Then he swung and missed at back to back fastballs in the zone in the same location. Kinda odd for him to miss like that on in zone pitches.
