So…I take issue with lots of stuff written on that site. Today’s post by Eric Cole is silly.

In it he suggests that Chas simply MUST be moved at the deadline.

Y’all, Chas shouldn’t be going anywhere. He was .842 ops last year. That’s not a “decent” season for a guy who plays a good CF, that’s a fantastic season even playing a corner OF spot.

By the way, the .772 he has put up for his career is also quite good as an everyday CF, and is *just fine as a corner OF. Over three seasons he’s proven himself to be good enough to play every day, and a slow start this season doesn’t change that at all in my mind.

Joey has looked productive for 39 AB. We all want him to be the .810 OPS guy he looks like in his first handful of MLB AB. However, it’s not generally a linear path for young hitters in MLB, look at Yainer. Joey has options and needs to play everyday. I am an advocate of sending him down in favor of Chas.
