I need a new hobby and I know there's that big facility west of town.

What would it be like for a single dude who knows next to nothing to go out and a) learn the game and then b) eventually get involved in a game?

Is it just as easy as showing up and asking questions to folks in the stands? Any groups or orgs yall would suggest joining?
