Crazy traffic at IAH?

Sat in not moving traffic at the AB/CDE split at IAH last night for 15 minutes. I guess all of E and C departures shuts down at night, making everyone do everything through C arrivals? Does anyone know if this will be happening the week of Thanksgiving? It took me an hour from the time I got there, got my friend, and got out with the way the traffic is going now on a random Wednesday night…before Thanksgiving will take forever.
