Crazy temperature record from last December

So on top of last December having a record high of 85 degrees on 12/10/21, the low temperature on that day was 76) . To give some perspective on how insane that is, it was 30 degrees warmer than the average low for December and is the same as the average low for July. (Based on weather records from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Houston in the Geography section under Climate).
