Couple thoughts on the defense

I have two main thoughts about the defense that I haven’t really seen many people talk about in this sub.

1. Even though the defense has a lot of players individually playing well, we have an insane number of coverage busts or explosives. It’s every single week.

Every single game we have massive explosive plays against us that mitigate the effects of a bunch of nice plays. Even in the games we won, we had huge easy touchdowns that were dropped or just overthrown. This is a big failing of the defense and secondary in particular that is under-discussed.

1. Everyone seems mad that DeMeco blamed the defense. In part, he’s right due to what I just said before; one way or another, 30 points to Will Levi’s is horrible.

But more importantly, I would rather him say that than call out Stroud when it already seems like he has the weight of the world on his shoulders and has got the yips.
