Cost for Installing Wrought Iron Driveway Gate?
I’ve received a few quotes from companies but I’ve never had to price one out before and don’t really have a frame of reference. I was curious what other homeowners in Houston might have recently paid for similar installations (within the last year or so).
For reference, it’s a one car driveway with a gate about 10’ wide. Normal gate without any custom additions like “monogram”-style lettering (this isn’t for a ranch, after all). A separate wrought iron fence panel about 3’ wide between the driveway and house is needed. Opener is a Lift Master LA412 swing opener with solar power supply. Wireless keypad will also be installed. The install also requires removal of an existing barn door-style wood gate, including posts.
I received one quote for $6,300 and one for $5,800. Planning to go with the second company (I’ve been really happy with their customer service so far) but just want peace of mind that I’m not drastically overpaying or anything. I know it’s a labor-intensive process with a decent amount of custom fabrication involved. Googling isn’t much of a help, but does show just the opener itself costing $2,000 to $2,500 installed.
Thanks for any feedback!
