Cool Stores that Kids Would Like

When I was little growing up in Houston two of my favorite stores to go to as a kid with my parents were Bering’s and Texas Art Supply. It was cool because they weren’t necessarily “for kids.”

Does anyone have some other suggestions for stores that I could take my kids to that they might enjoy? Someone I work with suggested the Phoenicia on Westheimer, and I thought that one might be good.
