Cool birthday spot (dinner and drinks)

My friends and I (late 30s women) are coming to Houston and it’ll be my birthday while we’re there. We like a cool vibe, open to all kinds of cuisine, we’re staying in midtown. Any suggestions for a cool spot for dinner? Also interested in cocktail places, dive bars, live music, etc. Really just want to enjoy what Houston has to offer!
