Considering relocating from Miami to Houston

Background: Girlfriend is a nurse who works primarily in senior home and memory care clinics. I work remotely, but may transition into law enforcement.

We primarily look for areas that:

A) Climate: Warm and we prefer humidity but moderate dryness is fine too

B) No income tax state

C) Big enough city with a decent sized airport

D) Mid tier cost of living regarding housing

E) Proximity to mid tier dining/things to do. We spend a lot of time going to targets, olive gardens, marshalls/ross stores/walmarts etc. We arent into fancy shmancy dining.

I know this is a hard question to ask but so far Miami isnt really paying out what we want. The cost of living is very high here, the land is very limited, we are stuck to HOA communities which charge massive premiums, we have to live far from an airport to find a place that is decent (30 minutes) with land, we are far from all food places etc.

Anyone move from Miami or Florida to Houston and what was your experience like?
