Concerned about Dangerous Intersection Near Me

Hey Reddit community,

I've been witnessing a concerning issue near my townhome lately, and I wanted to get some advice and opinions on how to address it. There's a park next to my place, and it's a common route for school buses that drop off very young children (the bus stop is exactly at the intersection). Unfortunately, I've been noticing that people run the three-way stop signs at this intersection every single day.

I'm genuinely worried that if this continues, it's only a matter of time before a child gets hurt. The stop signs are clearly visible, but it seems like many drivers don't even slow down. As I'm about to become a parent myself, this issue has become even more distressing for me. I bet close to 50 to 100 cars run the stop signs in the hour I spend working out at the park every day.

I wanted to ask if anyone has experience dealing with similar situations or knows if it's possible to request a red light at a problematic intersection like this. I'd like to take some action to improve safety in the area, but I'm not sure where to start. Am I wasting my time or is this something worth pursuing?
