Commute from Midtown/Montrose to Deer Park

Hey y’all, I managed to get an internship at a Deer Park chemical plant and I’m currently looking for places to live in Midtown and Montrose. I’m not from Houston but I’ve heard about the infamous traffic in the city. Does anyone know how long it would take getting to Deer Park from Midtown or Montrose? Google maps says it’s about 25 minutes from where I’m looking to live but with traffic it says about 45 minutes. People have told me this is normal, but does anyone make this commute? I’m trying me best to find a great place to live but if traffic is that bad I’ll shift my search to the Pasadena/Clearlake areas.
