Commute Driving advice

I've recently moved to Houston from Germany and am finding the fast pace and aggressive driving here a bit challenging. Although I'm not new to driving, I didn't drive much before because I relied on public transportation and didn't even own a car. My AM (6:30am) commute typically takes 35 minutes to an hour, traveling from the Sugar Land area to about a mile north of the Gallerias. I usually take the Fort Bend Toll Road, followed by Post Oak and the 610 access road.

However, the few times I've driven on I-610 have been nerve-wracking, especially when navigating the ramps, merging into the left lanes which I do at the speed limit, and then moving back to the right lanes to find my exit. This process tends to frustrate, with obvious reasons, other drivers.

So, I have a couple of questions for you:

Do you have any tips for managing this type of driving environment?

If I stick to the I-610 north access road, where is a good place to enter I-610 so that I can stay in the right lane, go at the speed limit, and avoid aggravating other drivers?

Thanks in advance for your help!
