Community aimed at offering low-cost homes opens near Houston

Miami-based homebuilder Lennar Corp. is opening its second Houston-area NuHome community, which aims to provide low-cost homes to entry-level buyers.

Country Colony will offer more than 90 homesites, with houses starting in the $170,000s. Lennar (NYSE: LEN) said down-payment assistance will be available to qualified buyers.
