City of Houston approves smaller hike to certain fees amid inflation, recession concerns

Mayor Sylvester Turner said his administration chose to use last year’s adjustment to certain fees — rather than the larger hike that would have gone into effect automatically — to help lift some of the burden of inflation off of businesses and individuals.
