If you haven’t tried it, you might want to check out the free Citizen App. It posts Criminal incidents and Fires on a map around a point you choose (for example your home neighborhood). The posts are usually posted by fellow Houstonians although the Moderators also post 911 calls. It also shows where HPD helicopters are flying
