Cigar Recommendations NW Houston

A friend is heading back to England tomorrow and wants to bring back a couple of cigars from the US. I know Specs has them, but I have no clue what to get. Are there any brands I should look for? Something you wouldn't normally find in the UK, are there any local makers or Made in Texas brands I can look out for?
