Christmas night events?

So, I'm in a bit of an odd situation and wanted to get some Houstonian feedback on how to make the best of it. Long story short, I'm in grad school at A&M Galveston and my research has forced me to be doing field work on Christmas in Corpus Christi rather than with my family out of state. Now that I'm done for the day and heading back, I was hoping to find something to do where I could cast off the lonely vibes, eat some good food, drink a couple good drinks, and potentially meet some other young people out and about on the evening of Christmas day. Houston seemed like the best place to look, and I can be there in about 3 hours! Google hasn't been tremendously helpful besides showing me the Christmas Day Feast at Davis Street, so if anyone has suggestions on spots to check out, I'd appreciate them. If it helps narrow down the suggestions, I'm into plenty of live music, board/video games, craft beer, all things oceanic, and cocktails (though I'm surely not alone in most of those). I've got plenty of time and don't mind staying out quite late, so anywhere in the Houston area is fair game– just need to make the drive back down to the island!
