Choosing an electric company

Moving into a new apartment at the end of the month. My last place had landlord-paid electric but here I will need to have it in my name. I can read about them on power to choose, but I’m hoping for some anecdotal advice from houstonians regarding which power company to go with.

Some factors to consider: I’m a schoolteacher who commutes so I am usually from 6:30 am to 5:30-6pm on weekdays. The apartment has two window-mounted AC units but it's a very small place. Appliances include fridge, microwave, gas stove, dishwasher (will use that very rarely). I have a medium sized TV that's usually on when I'm home and awake. The lease term is 12 months.
