Cheap Psych Testing or psychiatrist that doesn’t require psych testing

I'm either looking for a place that does cheap psych testing or for a psychiatrist to continue prescribing my ADHD medication that doesn't require psychological testing.

Here's the background, I recently moved to Houston from Austin a couple of months ago. I was diagnosed with ADHD and BED about 4 years ago by my previous psychiatric NP and was prescribed medication that I've been doing really well on. I moved to Houston for school (completing an accelerated program) and started seeing a psych PA down here. The PA was prescribing my medication but she left the practice pretty abruptly and I was assigned an NP. My new NP doesn't seem convinced I have ADHD and has requested I complete psych testing. I have no issues doing that, but I just don't have the money and am not sure what I can/should do. I've called around and the cheapest psych testing would be around $500 with my insurance. So now I'm wondering if it would be worth just finding a new provider altogether or maybe taking out a loan to pay for the testing.

As I said before, I'm in an accelerated program, so I'm currently not working and have little funds.
