Cheap month-to-month housing?

Gonna be in houston for an indefinite period of time and dont want to commit to a long-term lease. Cheaper the better. As long as I’m not in a really, really bad area I’m happy. Im not to worried about commute but proximity to restaurants and a rock-climbing gym are big pluses. Any suggestions?
