Cheap fresh crawfish found at HEB Boil House on Beechnut (03/04/2024g

TLDR: this is the cheapest I have found in the last two weeks in the greater Houston area.

PSA for anyone that has given up on crawfish season this year. They’re still kind of small but HEB on Beechnut and BW8 has a seafood restaurant outside the store for take away only called the Texas Boil House

Price is $7.97/lb as of this week. Drops to $7.47/lb if you buy more than 5 lbs. Saturday they have a special where they throw in a free lb of giant boiled head on shrimp.

We drove around a lot and called 40 places around town to get prices. The highest we heard was $18/lb with the average around $12.99. The cheapest was $9.99 for cooked fresh in Pasadena.

I learned from some folks on here that you can buy it from wholesalers for $5.55/lb but you need to buy 30 lbs and drive far to get it.

This is by far the best deal we know about. If anyone else has a report of a lower price than $7.47/lb for fresh crawfish this year, please share.
