Cheap Chinese food combo plates?

Hey y'all, I semi recently moved back from so cal and while I'm happy to be back to Houston food, the one thing I've not found is a go to Chinese spot in the loop.

Back in SoCal we had a ton of different spots that did combo plates with chow mein or fried rice, and two entrees for like $10-15. My favorite was a local spot that had been there for ages that would pile the container so full you could eat off it for two days.

Here? I'm struggling.. I used to live much farther west and don't feel like driving an hour for the spot my dad liked. Everything seems to be $15 per entree and doesn't come with rice or chow mein. (If they even have chow mein)

Also anyone know where they do cream cheese wontons not crab rangoons with scallions or dried out "cheese puffs"? 😅

Looking for recommendations near the heights/surrounding areas if possible?

Edit: not looking for pei-wei, Panda Express, Food Court or buffet. Just general a more Pacific coast style take out spot inside the loop.
