Centerpoint Gas line leak

Does anyone have experience with an external gas leak?

I just got my gas shut off because someone reported a leak and centerpoint came and shut off my gas.

They said that I need to call a plumber to fix it. When I did, I got a quote for $2000 just to run a test on the main line. Then it will be an additional charge if the leak isn't the main line.

And that's just for the tests before any repairs are down…

This seems ridiculous. Anybody have any advice or suggestions?
