Centerpoint/electric confusion???

I'm trying to transfer my service to my new location, however, my electric provider is stating Centerpoint doesn't allow switches on weekends(???) when I was allowed to do this 2 years ago

And when I called Centerpoint, they said the reason is because there wouldn't be a person to manually read the meter(???) even though both apartments use smart meters.

Can someone verify this? Or, explain it better?

Background: moving Sunday, Aug 20, can switch services onSaturday, Aug 19. But that leaves me a day/night without AC in this Houston heat before move-in day. I don't know what to do and am scared 😫
