Census 2020

Census Day is April 1, 2020. It counts our population and households, providing the basis for reapportioning congressional seats (a process called apportionment that determine the number of seats each state has in the U.S. House of Representative), redistricting, and distributing more than $675 billion in federal funds annually to support states, counties and local communities’ vital programs — impacting housing, education, transportation, employment, health care, and public policy. Funding is distributed to states and communities each year.
