Cat Surrender Advice

Hi all,

Unfortunately for the past month and a half my 1 year 5 month old cat has been having pretty bad health issues. He had a urinary blockage that required a 4 day ER stay and many follow up vet visits. I’ve spend around 6k on him already. He developed severe anxiety from the urinary blockage and is unable to function normally. He’s been put on Prozac and it’s been 3 weeks and is similar in temperament. His anxiety, health issues, and medications have caused him to lose appetite, have a mix of constipation and diarrhea, urinate and poop outside the box. He’s generally unable to be self sufficient. The past 2-3 days he’s taken longer than 24 hours to pee. I cannot afford any more care for him and feel selfish keeping him. I also don’t want him to die out on me. Does anyone have any ideas on resources, no kill surrender shelters, volunteer veterinary services in the Houston area? I hate that it has come to this but I’ve ran out of options and am devastated from the situation. Thanks everyone.
