Career in Carpentry

Is there anyone here who could offer any advice on building a career as a carpenter?

Background:

I am a 30 yr old female rebuilding my life from the ground up and I really want to get into a trade. I’ve dropped out of college more times than I can count, for many different reasons. I’ve finally accepted that it’s not for me.

I have always loved working with anything that allowed me to be hands on… diy Repairs on my family’s home, replacing parts on my car, fixing little doodads, yard work, painting, drawing, baking, etc. My latest obsession is watching hours and hours of home and furniture restoration on YouTube.

I currently work in the service industry, but I’ve grown tired of it and I’m ready for a change.

Does anyone know of any reputable apprenticeship programs or trade schools?

Any advice for a beginner looking to make a life long career of carpentry?

Also open to exploring adjacent trades.

Thanks so much for all your help!
