Cardinals fans: "Hopkins contract averages out to 18.8 mil per year!"

I see Cardinals fans all over trying to justify the contract with this logic, but I've never heard anyone use this logic for other players' extensions.

If we applied this logic to Watson's extension, then he averages out to $30.3 mil avg / year. Wow!
