Car Accident (Saturday) Post Oak Boulevard. Any surveillance?
I was sitting at the traffic light at Post Oak Boulevard and I was on West Loop South when the driver ahead of me reversed his truck into my hood and bumper. I tried to blare my horn to stop him but it was too late by the time he knew what was happening. He was trying to make a right turn onto Post Oak and did not see my car because his truck was pretty high up. This would have been just east of Uptown Plaza.
He apologized and we exchanged info. He provided me with his insurance information. I was slightly shaken but overall everything was ok aside from car damages. I called 911 to come to the area and write a report and dispatch said I would have to go to a station to file a report. I went to the station and they said since the driver and I exchanged info they could not write a report. There seemed to be a disconnect between dispatch’s protocol and the station officer’s protocol but I just left seeing as it did not seem like I would be able to obtain a police report.
I’ve filed through his insurance carrier and I’m waiting for their investigation and decision on the claim.
Does anyone know of any traffic light surveillance or other surveillance in the area that may have captured the accident? If so, any way to obtain that surveillance?
