Recently, a family member was diagnosed with a disease that required a lot of discussion on the medical diagnosis and treatment options. My family member primary speaks Cantonese (Chinese) and understands very little English. While family members and virtual interpreters did help translate what the doctors were saying to Cantonese, it wasn’t fluid and some things got lost in translation. I went out looking for a Cantonese-speaking provider in the Houston area and initially found that this info wasn’t readily available. Ultimately through word of mouth and calling around, I was able to find a few providers. I’m hoping this post will help someone one day.
