Canadians that have moved to Houston, are you happy with your move? Any advice?

My husband has the opportunity to transfer from his job in Sk to Houston, and we are considering this. We are a family of 5, however our oldest is starting University this fall so he will likely not be moving with us just yet. Between my husband and I, we earn $180k, we have almost no debt, and we have two other children 17 and 8.

I’m educated in the HR field and have 10+ years in the oil & gas industry.

The school shootings, gun violence, health care, and racism are our biggest concerns as this is what we see in the news as big problems.

Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated!!
