Canadian out of towner’s review of a few places
Truth BBQ – the pork ribs were disappointing. The dry rub was not that flavourful. While the ribs fell off of the bone, there wasn’t much chew to them. 7/10.
Wasn’t a fan of the bbq sauce either but that is more my preference for a thicker sauce which I understand is not Texas BBQ.
The carrot cake was delicious, but the icing was very sweet. 9/10.
I would not come back here for the pork ribs. They weren’t serving beef ribs when I went, which I hear are better. I didn’t try the brisket because my thing is ribs but the person I was with said the brisket was 9/10.
Little’s Oyster Bar – Tried three different oysters, all great. 9/10.
Grilled octopus. 10/10.
Dry aged tuna. 10/10.
The food here was delicious. I would highly recommend this place if you like seafood.
TexMex Cantina – got the nachos at NRG stadium. I should have known stadium food wouldn’t be good, but I thought it would be at least average. 1/10.
Milk + sugar – some of the best hard ice cream I have ever had. Great flavour and creaminess without being too soft. 10/10.
I would highly recommend this place if you like hard ice cream.
Flower & cream – okay hard ice cream. 7/10.
P.S. The traffic and drivers are nuts here.
