Can I walk into a restaurant on Thanksgiving?

I’m going to be spending a couple of days with my daughter in your city as a layover on a longer trip from NZ to the UK and we arrive on Thanksgiving.

I know it’s a huge holiday and many restaurants are offering special meals that day, but we just want to get a simple dinner (tacos, pizza etc).

Will a lot of places in the city be open for walk-ins or should I book something?
