Can I go to the county hospital and get treatment for a dislocated finger and be billed later?

Hey guys,

Is there anywhere that will look at it and I’ll just take the L on medical bills later. It’s swollen, stiff, and bent out of shape yet doesn’t hurt unless I REALLY try to manually bend it back. Seems to be dislocated rather than broken according to Google.

Is this something I can wait it out at Ben Taub or LBJ and get treated for? I don’t have insurance, very little cash, and am unstably housed so resources are thin. I have a very good job offer but insurance has a delay and a paycheck would be a month out. I can deal with it, but I read that it’s lifelong damage if you leave the finger like that and it’s already been a few weeks. Just not sure if this qualifies as an “emergency” to be treated by the county no money down.
